Smugglers Night in Rottingdean is now on a sustainable footing

Councillor Joe Miller (also the Conservative Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Brighton Kemptown and Peacehaven Constituency) and Councillor Mary Mears, and past Councillor and Alderman of the City in Rottingdean Coastal Ward Lynda Hyde: are delighted to support, with their £3,000 Ward Budget from 2018-2019, a new Smugglers Night through the local PARC Charity for this year to put Smugglers Night in Rottingdean on a sustainable footing in the years coming forward.

Joe, Mary and Lynda said:

 

"It is our pleasure and delight to support PARC and Smugglers to put on a weekend bonanza of wonderful events for our community. We look forward to them all hugely, and hope to see you all there.

 

We look forward to announcing where our 2019-20 allocation of £2,000 will go in the coming days."

This year Smugglers has been enabled by this grant to play host to an exciting series of interactive performances for children of the Treasure Island Theatre Show on Saturday 7th December. Up to 40 children plus parents can be accommodated for during each showing. Thanks to this grant the event is free but tickets need to be booked in advance via Sharon at Artpod.

 

Other events planned for that weekend include;

 

Musical entertainment around the village (details to be announced later on).

 

2 Day Christmas Artisan Markets presented by Visit Rottingdean with quality stalls selling a diverse range of gifts and local produce from handmade cheeseboards to chutney, everyone is welcome to enjoy the festive spirit.

St Margaret's Church Christmas Tree Festival

Come and see over 40 Christmas Trees decorated in an amazing variety of ways displayed in Rottingdean's beautiful Parish Church.

Sunday 8th 12pm-4pm

 

Rottingdean Preservation Society Christmas Artists Open House

The Grange from Tuesday November 12th until Sunday December 15th. Open until 6pm on 7th & 8th December

Over 20 artists with a wide variety of arts and crafts will be selling reasonably priced Christmas gifts and cards.
