Alzheimer’s Disease International has praised the UK Government for its progress and commitment in tackling the stigma of dementia and improving the care experience for sufferers and their carers at this year’s UK Dementia Congress, held in Brighton’s Hilton Metropole.
Greg Barker, Minster of State for the Department of Energy and Climate Change and MP for Bexhill and Battle, visited the Brighton Kemptown Constituency on 9th May. Mr Barker’s visit included a tour of an eco-home in the city, followed by a roundtable discussion at the University of Brighton, where he met representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and important members of the sustainable energy community.
Simon Kirby, MP for Brighton Kemptown, is to table an amendment to the Localism Bill, currently making its way through Parliament to allow the Secretary of State at the Department of Communities and Local Government, to change the Brighton Marina Act so that the provision to build above the cliff height could be disallowed.
